What cheap affordable dining is within walking distance from the Philly convention center?

Will be staying at Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel. Are most things within walking distance?

  • I will be at a conference for 4 days at this hotel. I want to avoid a car rental. Are there restaurants, shops, etc., within walking distance? Any insight would help, thanks

    I agree that walking would be difficult. While there are restaurants and shops close by, there are large parking lots between them. It is, however, possible to get around the area without a car. There really aren't any restaurants and shops within immediate walking distance. It's a very suburban area. There is a large mall and shopping area across an overpass road from where the hotel is, but it's quite a walk and not even possible without sidewalks. There's restaurants and stores within the hotel, but they'll obviously be overpriced.

Although there are malls and restaurants in the area and close by, I would not be walking. there isn't any good sidewalks, or safe areas to walk. the roads are congested very much around that area and traffic is heavy. You should call the hotel and ask if they have a shuttle service to Woodfield Mall- plenty of shops and restaurants there.

I agree, would be pretty hard to walk to anything, but not impossible, depends on your own level of comfort. Safe enough as far as not beiong a bad crime area, but not sure if there are sidewalks to enable you to get to the south side of I-90. There are nice attractions, restraunts and malls to the south, Woodfield is the biggest one, Streets of Woodfield, etc http://www.schaumburgconventioncenter.com/about/
