Best things to do in Chicago?

My family and I are going to Chicago this weekend, what is the best hotel downtown and the best things to do?!?

  • My husband, my six month old daughter and myself are headed to Chicago for the weekend! What is the best hotel near everything and away from any really crime ridden area that's under 150 a night? Also, what are the must do's....that we can do with baby of course!! Thanks :-)

    I recommend the Chicago's Essex Inn. It's the one my family goes to whenever they come over. The building is very beautiful, but the customer service isn't divine like Hilton Hotel, which is right next store. I usually walk around in Chicago just for the heck of it, but there are some fun things to do for families. You can go to one of the many museums that have great exhibits. Chicago also has great art, but I'm not sure what kind of art they'd have on display now. My daughter and I just got back from Chicago. I'd always heard about the Palmer House (now the Palmer House Hilton), so we stayed there. I liked it a lot; it's historical and has great architecture. Downtown has a lot of homeless people, but you are close to the things you may want to see. But if you really want a safer, family atmosphere, you may want to be further out of the "loop."

don't know about hotel but good things to see are: entertainment: The beach (well not around now) , navy pier, all museums, sixflags, the sears tower, or the movies Food: Red lobster, the flat top grill, and jamba juice some u cant do with a baby
