What should I expect for the Texas drivers license test?

What to expect during drivers license test in Chicago, IL?

  • I'm going to go take my driving test within the next few days, and I'm a little worried as to what I should be expecting. First off, I cannot parallel park. Each time I've done it, a person has stood on the curb and told me what to do. Is parallel parking included on the test? I will probably take the test at the facility located at 5401 N. Elston in Chicago or at 1903 N. Mannheim Road in Melrose Park. What will I be instructed to do at either locations? Also, I have my driving permit (obviously =]), but is there a written test that I have to take before I can take my driving test?

The written test is full of really easy common sense questions and is very easy to pass. The actual driving test is easy as well. Drive the speed limit, come to a complete stop (count to three), use your turn signal a little earlier than normal & don't change lanes in an intersection... I don't recall having to parallel park, probably because most people have a hard eough time doing it when they're not under any pressure so I'm 95% sure they don't want to sit in the car while some sweatie testee (sorry) next to them tries to park for a half hour. Don't worry about parallel parking. I happen to be an expert at parallel parking. Here's how you do it: The most important thing is to use your mirrors, make sure you can see your bumper on both sides. Pull right next to the car in front of you, cut immediately and use your mirrors...if you can see your bumper you'll see how close you are to bumping the car next to you.
