What is the cheapest prepaid phone plan for short stay in the USA ?

  • i will be traveling to the us for a short stay 2 to 3 week, i dont want to use my Roaming service since its too expansive...so i want to know what will be the best plan for a cheap prepaid 2G phone card, to receive calls, and check the mails and facebook on GPRS mode... i will be mostly staying in Chicago... include rates and options plz and thank u so much in advance... and are there any good attraction around Pontiac MI ? any upcoming events on the next 2 weeks ?

Including text and email is driving the cost up a bit. If you check email from hotels or other places, you can skip that on the cell and just get a cheapo prepaid phone with voice only ... and spend less dollars.
