How to get a low mile time, but i only have a little over a week to train..?

I've got about 8 or 9 days to train for A mile coming up in school(: i really want to get under 8:30, but don't have long! Also, i get out of breath REALLY easy, but no,i don't have asthma.. So best way to train, and best way to not get out of breath so easily? 10 points to best answer! Pleaseeeee help, any information/advise is very useful! Oh, and in return; I'll answer one of your questions the best i can! (:

Maybe you should have a talk with the family doctor but doubt that is probable in a few days. Why not start by jogging around the block every day...that's about 1/2 mile. Now you can answer my question: Why not ask this question in the "Diet and Fitness" section of the "Health" category.
