What are some hotels by North Avenue Beach in Chicago and is it near downtown Chicago?

okay so for my sweet sixteen i want to take a limo to the beach and then the next day shopping downtown with a group of friends. we plan on goin to north avenue beach. two problems....one dont know of any hotels near the beach ANDDDD i wanna go downtown but i have a tiny feeling the beach is no where near downtown. someone please help i really want to make my sweet sixteen special bc it is a sweet sixteen lol.soooo plz plz plz plz help. n maybe if u no some cheap limo services the would be AWESOME! k thanks

It's only 2 miles from downtown.
