Answer:
Sure. All you have to do is apply. Look up some of the colleges you're interested in on the internet and see what their requirements are for admission. You'll also have to have a way to pay for college, of course, whether it's taking out loans or working, say working full-time and going to school part-time. Judging by the way your question is written, you might have an easier time of it if you first go to a community college in your area and then transfer to a four-year college, if that's what you want. Once you get your degree, you can look for a job outside of NC if you want. Or, you may want to look into vocational/occupational school - shorter time, less money and you can train for a good job.

North Carolina is growing faster than Illinois, so if you can't find a job there, your chances in Chicago aren't good either. The job growth in this country is in the south and west, not the midwest.

isnt 21 a little late for college? thats when ppl graduate. but if you are serious just apply to the college you want to go to in Chicago and if you get in then go.

There are few job opportunities in Chicago and IL has a *high unemployment rate* so I would not recommend coming to IL if you're job searching. You would be better off looking up unemployment rates by state and find which states have the lowest unemployment rate, then possibly move there for school and work. Another thing - living in Chicago is very expensive. Rent is very high for just 4 walls and a ceiling, if you add in utilities, food, gas (apparently the price is the highest in the country in the Chicago area), etc. it adds up. So make sure you look into costs of living in Chicago before moving. Yes, there are a lot of colleges in Chicago, but unless you're planning on going to Northwestern U or the U of Chicago, the other colleges there are very average and you can find the exact same kind of education in another state.
