How much is a train ticket from Belleville, Illinois to Chicago, Illinois?

The cost of ticket begins at $24 one way or $48 round trip.You will want to reserve your ticket early because as Amtrak sells more tickets they begin to raise the ticket prices. There are 6 trains everyday to Chicago and 6 trains everyday from Chicago to Saint Louis. Go to the link below and they will have all the information you need, just put the date you want to travel into the form and that will give you the train times and the fares. Remember as the trains have fewer seats available the fares increase from the $24 base so the earlier you make you reservation the more likely you will get the lowest fare on the trains you want

Hi Last time I caught the train up to Chicago it was from Effingham but from Saint Louis it's $48 each return.With a very early start departing either at 04:35am or 06:40am.The last train from Union Station is at 1900 or 7pm.Both ways is around 5 1/2 hours.

The above answers are good...you have some options as you can either take the StL - Chicago route by catching a train in downtown StL or Alton. On the Carbondale-Chicago route, you could drive over to Centralia to catch a train. Also, the StL- CHI route has some service issues right now due to the high-speed rail construction project going on along this route.
