Should I go to college in Seattle or Chicago?

I want to go to college in Chicago?

  • I really want to go to college in Chicago or near Chicago because I love the city. I have a 3.9 GPA and good ACT/SAT scores. I have lots of volunteer/work/extracurriculars and leadership experience. I've looked at DePaul but I really don't like that there isn't an actually campus. I was interested in Northwestern but I've heard a lot of negative things about it. What other good schools are there near the Chicago area?

  • Answer:

What are the bad things you've heard about Northwestern? It's a great school in a great location with great academics. The only thing I have found to be bad about it is the price tag that goes along with it. Yeah, it's a great school, but I don't think the price would be worth that.

depaul kind of has a campus, especially if you go to lincoln park there is more of a campus feel than at the loop. northwestern is a really good school, but it's expensive and the greek scene is pretty prevalent (which can be positive or negative depending if you're into that or not). Loyola is good, kinda small though but they have a pretty campus right on the lake and very close to the city. uic is in the city too, but i heard it can have a commuter feel and large classes. The University of Chicago is probably one of the harder ones to get into, but they have a real campus and it's in the city so you're close to everything.
