Best beaches to find driftwood in Chicago?

  • I need a large piece of driftwood to use for a project. I know you can find driftwood on city beaches because I have before, but I have a limited amount of time to do this and I'd appreciate any tips. Thanks!

    Won't find any trees floating on lake michigan,along chicago beaches. I'd go farther north, in Wisconsin, or in Michigan, also, could check the des plains river, or canal in the vicinity of I-55 and La Grange road. Also,Alot of places, check for boat dock landings in the vicinity of Harlem ave and about 120 th street. Lot of woods along the banks, and have plenty driftwood.
