i really like potato creek in indiana. it is beautiful. you can camp in a tent or camper, even with horses. there are tons of bike trails, walking trails, and a great lake to swim in. also turkey run is awesome, but it is down by indianapolis. there are also now campsites by wisconsin dells that are pretty cool too.

My school used to do trips to Devil's Lake, WI, we had a blast: hiking, rock climing, etc. Also the Wisconsin Dells are pretty good, too. Look for KOA on the web.

Check out starved rock state park near Peru IL. If you are going on a weekend make sure to get there early Friday becuase the spots fill up fast. They also have a super lodge but I think it is booked out for months, if not into next year. They also have cabins, pleanty of scenic trails and attractions in the area. Hoarse back riding, canoeing and more in the area. Parks like buffalo rock and others too to visit while you are there.
