I'm visiting Chicago, the thing is I'm 19, so what are some fun things that I could do? (e.g. Clubs)?

I'm visiting my sister in the middle of August, but she's over 21. I'm hoping that she has booked tickets to a Cubs' game, so I know that's one thing I could do with her. I don't want to be the typical tourist, so are there any cool clubs or just random fun places that I can still enjoy with my sister. I know there are shopping centers and places like Navy Pier, but are there like the "Hot Spots" that a person my age can still enjoy? Also, what do you recommend I do to get the full Chicago experience? By the way, my sister just moved to Chicago last August, she's still fairy new to the place.

Answer:
Get a copy of the Chicago Reader when you get here. It's a free newspaper. Scan the ads and the music section and it will list every street fair going on that weekend. It's a great way to see the REAL city, because most of the fairs are neighborhood events and real neighborhood people, not tourists, go to them. Usually they cost about $5 to get in but there's lots of food, great bands and people of all ages. As far as clubs go, I don't know of any that cater to the under 21 crowd in the city anymore. There used to be quite a few, but I don't know happened to them. But then again, I'm a little older and out of touch. There's a place on Halsted street just North of Armitage Ave. that features all the latest video games and electronic games and gadgets. You can go there and rent a game booth that has state of the art tv sets and the latest games. Not sure of the name, maybe someone else here can help out. But I know it's on Halsted street just a little north of Armitage Ave. You have to walk up some stairs to get to the front door.

check the reader and you can get into some pretty cool street fairs with bands and local music talent. also, there isn't an age limit for the second city comedy club and it's pretty cool. try harry caray's and espn zone. they might have a side where you don't have to be 21. if your sister didn't get tickets to a cubs game as they are really hard to get. go down to the park about a half hour before the game starts and you will be able to scalp tickets on the street. the longer you wait, the cheaper the tickets are. we paid face value as soon as the first inning was over. that definitely beats paying $100 a ticket.

Stop by Ed Debevic's, it's just west of the Hard Rock. Ed's is a fifties themed restaurant where the wait staff tries to be rude. It's a kick; especially when they get up on the counter and sing and dance. The food is good too. Try Ed's mom's meatloaf WOW. Also, get the worlds smallest sundae for dessert.
