What is the best cable/internet provider in Chicago?

Who is the best residential electricity provider in Chicago and can I get an account without a SSN#?

I'm moving to Chicago from Canada and don't have a SSN # yet but want to start setting up an account to get electricity. Thanks.

You will find you have no choice to providers. Chi is pretty big and full of immagrants...I am sure you can get service with not angst. Maybe a little tougher for a hard line phone and your going to have to have a SSN for any bank account here.

There is no "best", there is only one... ComEd (Commonwealth Edison)... all hail the might ComEd!!! You could buy some solar panels, I suppose and slap those on somewhere. But i bet some ComEd guy comes around at night and busts them up... And I think you need a SSN to get hooked up. ComEd usually asked for a bill from a credit card company or something like that, and to get a credit card you need a SSN, so.... Get that SSN now.
