What sunscreen do you recommend?

..I'm spending summer 40 miles out of Chicago, what factor sunscreen do people recommend?

  • I'm very fair and have never tanned, only burn teven in the UK - i was thinking 25-30 -can anyone offer suggestions or elaborate on the weather here?

  • Answer:

Anything by Neutrogena with an SPF of 45 will do very well for you. I'm also fair skin and that's what I use. I also put it on about 20 minutes or more BEFORE I go outside. There have been reports of people still getting sunburn even with sunscreen on, and my guess is they didn't put it on soon or often enough. One application usually lasts me for about six hours in the outdoors. And whatever you do, don't forget it. It's very sunny here during summer months and is one of the main reasons I live here. When it's warm, this city is fantastic!

thats about where i live, it can be anywhere between 45 and 105 degrees farenheit, so be prepared for both. id guess a 30 spf would be good enough though depending on your time in the sun etc. id say it will be an average of low 80s in temp depending on exactly which dates youre here. have fun near chicago!
