Well as has been mentioned before, the Green Mill, Andy's and Green Dolphin Street feature jazz on a regular basis. But there are also a couple of new places like Elastic in Wicker Park (2830 N Milwaukee Ave at Woodard St Humboldt Park/Logan Square, Chicago (773-772-3616) , the Velvet Lounge (Velvet Lounge 67 E Cermak Rd between Michigan and Wabash Aves Printers Row/South Loop, Chicago (312-791-9050) , Pops for Champagne, although they lean more towards cabaret-type jazz (Pops for Champagne 601 N State St at Ohio Loop/West Loop, Chicago (773-266-7677) , a new place called Katerina's (Katerina's 1920 W Irving Park between Wolcott and Damen Aves Lakeview/Roscoe Village/Wrigleyville, Chicago (773-348-7592) , and the Underground Wonder Bar (10 E Walton St, Chicago, IL 60611 · 312-266-7761) But it's probaby best that you pick up a copy of The Readers (a free weekly newspaper) or Time Out Chicago magazine (not free) when you get there. There are some places that have jazz on one night a week and it just might be the night that you're here. Time Out has a pretty good listing of all of the jazz being played in Chicago, even the ones that are featuring it one night a week. For instance there's a club called the Fitzgerald's that features the occasional jazz act inbetween their regular American roots music lineup. Oh, and most, if not all of these places have a 21 and over policy. If you MUST have an under-21 place, you're probably going to have to go to a restaurant/bar type place that features jazz like Green Dolphin street. And I believe Andy's lets in under-21s (I think they serve food too) but they must be accompanied by a guardian. But any place that only serves drinks is 21 and over. You can also try Symphony Center for jazz shows, but that's going to be a little price as they feature mostly national big name acts like Brandford Marsalis.

Go to B.L.U.E.S on the near North Side, intimate, crowded, fun with live music all 7 nights. Or our favorite, Buddy Guy's Legends 754 S. Wabash, Chicago Illinois. or try Kingston Mines, 2548 N. Halsted St, voted best Blues Club in Chicago for the past 8 years.(but this is a weekend place) For more fun stuff in Chicago, go to http://www.hotelsntravel.com?chicago_illinois.htm

Andy's - Closest to downtown - http://www.andysjazzclub.com/ - Jazz all day, starts at like 3pm. Green Mill - http://www.greenmilljazz.com/ - Most famous jazz place in the city. Green Dolphin - http://www.jazzitup.com/ - Fancy jazz, fancy restaurant. I'm not sure if you have to be 21 to get into these places, but you better check the sites, or call.
