What are some good business colleges in Chicago?

What are great chicago universities for accounting for undergraduate who don't know the area ?

I want to transfer from a community college in north Carolina to a university in Chicago or a college really close to Chicago for business/accounting. I want a nice environment where I will be safe being new and not knowing anything about the location and area but since I can't go visit the colleges before I apply living 700 miles away what are good Chicago universities that I should look into I thought chicago state university was a good school but looking into it its not a safe location and just going to the school website won't tell you about the location please help. My question is what are good/great friendly universities in Chicago that are in the good area that will be safe especially if your new? your opinion is appreciated

  First of all, you should reject Chicago State University because it is the worst of Illinois' state universities, and it is only maintaining its accreditation for "politically correct" reasons. Some first and second tier universities that offer accounting in and near Chicago are Northwestern in suburban Evanston (top rate/very selective, nice neighborhood, but expensive), University of Illinois at Chicago (selective, near west side, safe if you stay on or near the campus), DePaul University (private, rather expensive, but in a nice Lincoln Park setting), and Loyola University (private, costly, north side, not particularly safe off campus). Each of these campuses has student housing. If you don't mind going to DeKalb, 60 miles west of Chicago, Northern Illinois University is a very nice and usually safe campus with a very good reputation in business, accounting, etc. It is one of the better state universities.
