Is it true Mayor Menino Put all clubs in Boston to 21+?

Do you have to be 21 to get into clubs in Boston?

  • i'm from europe and i can buy alcohol, smoke, and go to clubs, etc, cause I'm 18. But i'm soon going to boston, in a few months, for vacations, and I know i can't buy alcohol being 18, right? But can I get in clubs being 18, or do I also have to be 21 for that? Do they check the ID? I'll mention, that I'm high, 6 ft tall, and I'm thin, and blonde, not trying to be vain, but I look really fine, so I'm thinking maybe I could get in, just for that, the looks..? so anyway what age do i have to be, and is there a chance I could get inside not being 21, then?

No matter what part of the US ur in, drinking age is 21. Since clubs have bars, MOST clubs have an age restriction of 21. There are some clubs that are specifically for the 18 & older, but they either don't sell alcoholic drinks at all, or don't start selling them till 10 at night which is when they kick everyone under 21 out. Yes all clubs check ID's, but many people that can look the part, get fake ID's to get in. My sister has one, but never uses it. She's the lead singer in this band so she gets into all the punk clubs Free VIP. Guess what? She was 15 when she started doing this and she's 17 now. Given she's responsible enough not to hang out near the bar and drink a lot, so she never gets caught when the police do their checks. And yes, you heard me right, here in Chicago we have a lot of gang acivity so the police randomly sweep the clubs every so often. See we had split rents so we comute between Chicago and boston. I like Boston, she loves Chicago. Anyways, my advice would be to simply stay with the law and go to those 18 yr old age clubs. After all, I don't think... I know u don't hav the rebel skill like my sister. Trust me no one does. People don't touch her because she's to involved with the gangs and the punks. So because you don't have strong connections and can't just walk up to a club door, tell the dude your 17 but are involved with the gang called "____" or are the lead singer of the rock band called "____" playing it safe would be your best bet. That's what I do, me and my sister are opposites, but I have to say, standing next to her strapped Friends(if you know what that means) isn't easy, I don't know how she does it. So don't run to America and hang with the gangs just for the night life! That would be suicide!

In Boston you have to be 21 years old to drink, 18 years old to smoke, and at least 18 years old to go to clubs.

I'm not really familiar with Boston, but the drinking age in all areas of the United States is legally 21. In major cities (such as Boston), you have virtually no chance of getting into a club/lounge unless you are 21 and have sufficient ID to prove that. However, in NYC where I'm from, there are a lot of places that serve alcohol and still hold a 18+ age limit (concert venues, mainly). Albeit, you won't be able to drink, but you will be able to hang out inside and watch bands and stuff. I'm sure Boston has a lot of the same places.
