How to get to Boston MA from Norwalk CT by Train?

  • Wanna travel from Norwalk CT to Boston MA by Train. Could you give me some details? Thanks.

  • Answer:

Norwalk has 2 stations, East Norwalk and South Norwalk. SoNo is the more heavily traveled station and more trains stop there. Take Metro-North to New Haven or Stamford. (Which one depends on the time of day. There are more trains TO NYC in the morning, FROM NYC in the afternoon evening. Match up the schedules to decide which one.) Then take any Amtrak Regional to Boston. The Acela is sleek and expensive, and a little bit faster. It doesn't stop in Bridgeport at all. Sit on the right side of the train going North for the best views.

Just the opposite to Short and to the Point's answer: you take Metro North first, then change to Amtrak. But I am sure you knew that already...

The train doesn't stop in Norwalk, and most likely you would have to get off at Stamford, which is only about 5/10 min away from Norwalk. It would cost about $60 bucks one way. If you take the Greyhound or Peter Pan bus I think it should be a little cheaper, but it would take a little longer.

Care

The Acela Express is the quickest (and a real "rush" when you look out the window when you're going 150 mph!). Call 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) or go to http://www.amtrak.com. Downtown stations are Back Bay and South Station. Both have "T" subway connections. South Station also has inter-city bus connections. Enjoy your trip! Oh, you'll probably need to do Metro-North to Bridgeport and connect there. http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak/am2Station/Station_Page&c=am2Station&cid=1080080550698

Norwalk is less than 40 minutes from NYC so you might have to take amtrak from Stamford or New Haven or something.

Joba is Gangsta

amtrak to metro north, unless it stops in norwalk.
