What are some things I must see in Philly?

Visting Boston for a day and a half, what are some must-do/must-see things?

  • Hi! I'm going to be visiting Boston in a week. We're staying there for two nights, but since it takes a full day to drive there, we're only going to be able to tour Boston for a day and a half, max. What are some must-see or must-do things when in Boston? Also, if it helps, it will be three adults (me, my hubby and my sister-in-law) and four kids (SiL's kids, ages 14 and 8; and my brother in law's kids, ages 13 and 10) Please include links if possible. Thanks in advance! ~Dani.

  • Answer:

There's lots of stuff to see! The Freedom Trail which takes you through the city of boston and its historic spots. Boston Commons/Public Garden for the Swan Boats. Take a tour at Fenway Park, which is relatively cheap. The New England Aquarium is one of the best around. Fanuiel Hall...there's just so much! And all is within walking distance with exception of Fenway park which is a short train ride away on the city's Green Line.

I have lived around or in Boston all my life Considering the two youngest kids, a walk around Faneuil Hall (pronounced "Fan'-yew-il")and Quincy Market. You will find it active and fun for kids, and fascinating for adults as well. While you are in the Faneuil Hall area resist the urge to eat there. Instead, ask ANYone how to walk over to the "North End", Boston's famous old Italian neighborhood. The restaurants and bakeries there ought to be world famous. In the area of Faneuil Hall too is "Haymarket Square" which is an open-air market on push carts (but its only open Fridays and Saturdays ) If youre there, it is fascinating! That's day number one. On half day number two, go to Boston's famous Science Museum which is always very interesing. There is a planetarium there and an Omni-Imax Theater in the museum. If theres time, grab a book on touring Boston and look for Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, North End, Haymarket Square and also the Museum. Its a wonderful city, Have fun! (Walk down Newbury Street)
