• Moving to Boston right after high school? I AM GOING TO A UNIVERSITY AFTER THIS GAP YEAR!!! Hey right Now I am a 17 yo male from San Diego. I graduate high school June 13, 2011. By then I will be 18 and would like to move out of my parents house. My parents are not funding my move to Boston at all so I need to figure everything out by myself. I would leave at the end of June and stay at a hostel for two weeks. Within those two weeks I plan to look for a job and a place to rent. Is this well planned? Any advice? 1. How much money should I bring with me in the end of June to live off of until I can find a job and somewhere to live? 2. How hard is it to find a job in boston right now? 3. Should I leave June 30 or September 30? I would only leave sept. 30 if I don't have enough money to move? I plan to travel by plane by myself, with only my luggage and clothing. Thanks

  Woah, this is intense. First off, Boston is expensive. You will be lucky to find an apartment in a somewhat OK neighborhood for about $900 a month after utilities. I suggest you look at sublets because a lot of college students leave for the summer and need to rent their apartment. Kinda the same in teh fall for those who need to move away. Job in Boston will be hard to find. You could probably find retail maybe but that would only be at most, $200 a week. After groceries and bills it will most likely be gone. I honestly dont know. Youre bold and brave though.
