How much should I bring for parking on South Street in Philly?

Parking in Jamaica Plain?

  • I'm moving to JP this summer and my girlfriend and I need to bring our cars. I do not want to change my permanent address to Boston. I hear JP has ample street parking, can I get by with visitor parking? Will I likely need to rent a parking spot? What do people do when there is a parking ban in the winter if they don't have their own spots? We are looking mostly near Forest Hills, and on South Huntington Ave. We are also looking near the pond. Thanks!

    It has a lot of resident permit parking. You get a resident permit sticker from city hall. I think it only costs $1 (or used to). You will need a utility bill with your name and address on it. I think there is plenty of parking as long as you have a resident sticker.

Parking it that area is the LAST thing I owuld worry about. Personal safety would be #1. Go to the City of Boston website for resident sticker information. You may need to park and walk a little because some people onlu move their cars on the weekend because of the closeness of the public transit!
