Is there Any night life in Cambridge?

Where should a 23 year old live in Cambridge, MA?

  • I am moving to Cambridge in the fall to go to school, I was wondering what parts are more young adult friendly and safe!? I was thinking about Harvard Square, is that too loud or full of youngsters, or Porter Square seems like the safest place, but I dont know how the night life is there. I heard their T stop stairs re the worst to climb up, so thats a negative in my book. I will not live in Kendall, Central or Alewife. Please any suggestions, tips, anything would be great thanks!

  • Answer:

Much of Cambridge is college-age friendly, depending on your budget. Harvard Square is very expensive. Porter and Davis are good. (Davis is near Tufts University). Also Allston in Boston is right over the river and on frequent bus routes to Harvard Square. Sometimes the bus is better than the subway -- cheaper places, more stops, and buses that run almost as often. Example: try halfway between Harvard and Central on the #1 bus. Or towards Arlington or Fresh Pond. Porter has very long escalators, you only have to climb them if they are out of service. Decide your budget first, then see where you can afford to live.
