How is the city of Smyrna GA?

I lived in Smyrna for about ten years ... and loved it! The area has a lot going for it: -- great free concerts and festivals (the annual fireworks concert, the Jonquil festival...) -- proximity to Atlanta. It doesn't take long at all to get to town via 75 -- the downtown area. You can use the gym for free in the community center and the library -- the only city library outside of Atlanta -- is fabulous. The staff is helpful and outgoing. -- restaurants and shops in Vinings -- just a stone's throw away A lot of single, professional people live in Smyrna. The city has a friendly, small town vibe. When I was single living there, I never worried about my safety. I moved when I got married for one main reason: the schools in Smyrna aren't as good as other areas in Cobb County. But if that's not a concern, then by all means move there. I'm sure you'll love it!

I live close to that area. Just a few streets away, as a matter of fact. It's a very good area, and relatively safe. I have single female friends that own homes there, also. As far as entertainment, there are many things to do in the Smyrna area : there are a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and markets. The city of Smyrna puts on various festivals every year, and you're about 10-15 minutes from the city itself, so you're never at a loss for entertainment. I've lived in Atlanta most of my adult life, and in Smyrna for the last 9 years. I have no plans to leave. 10-15 years ago, you couldn't get people to live in Smyrna. Now, it's where many people WANT to live.
