Is Georgia State a hard school to get into?

Is georgia state university a party school?? Is it worth 30,000 a year out of s tuition??hard to get accepted?

  • Is there always something to do in ATL?

  • Answer:

Katelin, if you're appyling to colleges, you must be familiar with the various university sites. Plug in your gpa and SAT/ACT scores on Collegeboard.com. It'll show how you stand in comparison to the last incoming freshman class, and whether it's "hard to get accepted." We've heard some very good things about Georgia State from dedicated students. My daughter, a smart h.s. senior, doesn't want to go because she wants to get out of the city -- but for awhile, that was her fall-back school. Is it worth $30,000? Basically all schools command high tuition. Go on a tour. If you like what you see, if they offer the courses that you want and you can afford 30k, then go for it. Atlanta is a vibrant city with a number of colleges and activities/events to suit a wide range of people.

I would not define GSU as a party school at all. Not enough "campus" atmosphere in this downtown school located among the high rises and government buildings of the city center. I wouldn't pay $30k a year to attend GSU. It's generally considered the "fall back" school if you don't get accepted to UGA or Ga Tech so I would say it is fairly easy to get accepted.

Every state school is a party school. It's definitely not worth 30,000/year. It's fairly easy to get accepted into Georgia State.

GSU is generally considered to not be a party school. It is also somewhat difficult for admission. To have a reasonable shot, you would need an SAT (Math + CR) of 1100 or greater and a HS GPA of 3.25 or higher. Is it worth 30,000? What is your local state flagship? If you're in NC and can attend UNC for fairly cheap, I would do that instead of GSU. If you are in South Dakota and South Dakota State was your best alternative, GSU is likely worth the cost.

yes, there is plenty to do in Atlanta. However, if you are going to college just to party, don't bother going to college. $30,000 is too much money for your parents to spend for you to get drunk and be too hungover to attend class.
