Where are some good places to move near Georgia?

Good small towns to live in north-east Georgia?

  • Hi there! I want to move to a medium-size or small town in north-east Georgia. I want a town with low crime rates, beautiful parks or places to go, near a forest or something like that. And with an income per capita above the poverty line (that is, not a poor town). Do you know of any town with those characteristics? I've heard about a town named Cave Spring, but I think it's quite poor. Does anyone know if that's true? Thanks!

    dalton is the carpet capital of the world- with alot of poor people and mexicans that work in the factories. Marrietta, Roswell, Kennesaw are all sweet humble small towns that have old historic homes and history of the civil war

Yea.. NOT Athens lol. Marietta is nice but it's booming now in most parts, not so much small anymore. But Suwanee is BEAUTIFUL!! Great for raising a family, very quiet, great atmosphere etc... But anywhere North of the perimeter is pretty nice... Wherever you choose in North Georgia, just be prepared for traffic if you have a job or event in the city, or familiarize yourself with MARTA. Definitely not Athens like the first poster said. Athens is a college town with lots of bars and lots of kids. Really fun if you're 21 years old and go to UGA. Otherwise, it's a poor trashy town. Lawrenceville, Snellville, Loganville, Alpharetta, Cumming and Dawsonville all have what you're looking for.

Cumming or Alpharetta ect all around there is great OH and not too far up like towards the outlets not that populated(stuff far away like walmart) and not that many things up there
