What is the best town to live at in New Hampshire?

Looking for a nice place to live in Georgia?

  • Hello! I am currently planning to move from New Hampshire to somewhere in Georgia. But..I can't seem to decide on where to live. I'm looking for a rather quaint place, however, I need to be able to obtain a job working as a hairdresser, since I will be attending Cosmetology school. Every town I have looked at and done research on seems to have little to no job opportunities. And I am afraid to move to Atlanta, considering the horrible traffic and crime rates. Can anyone make any suggestions on what town in Georgia would be a good place for me to live? Thank you!!

  • Answer:

I see signs for hairdressers almost everywhere I go. (I just noticed one today in Marietta.) Is your cosmetology school in Georgia? I guess you'd start by moving close to your school -- or calling them to find out where there's a concentration of hairdressing jobs... If you're going to school in NH, why not start by calling a popular school here -- like Paul Mitchell -- and asking them about the job climate in Georgia. (You may need to tell them that you're a prospective student.) South Atlanta could indeed be dangerous -- high crime. Quaint towns like Madison or Cartersville, may indeed have limited opportunity since they're small and generally don't have chain-type salons.

If your looking for an old part of town you should try Marietta. If your looking for a newer part then maybe Alpharetta/Johns Creek. Good luck(:

Find a job first and then move to where the job is. Jobs are hard to find especially for someone just starting out. Too much unemployment. To many talented people out of work to give someone with no experience the job. First decide where you want to be. Do you want to be near the water and the history of Savannah? Do you want the rural farm life that is so prevalent outside of the major towns and cities or do you want a small town feel. If you want big city then Atlanta is the only option. You need to visit Georgia and decide where you want to live. Small towns offer fewer opportunities so quaint might not work for you. But you don't need to live in the city of Atlanta to enjoy the benefits of the big city while avoiding the problems that big cities bring (crime and poverty). Atlanta is a large metropolitan area. There is going to be traffic anywhere you live. That's just something you need to consider if you want to live in the metro ATL area. Traffic is an issue but it isn't nearly as bad as some people make it out to be and being a cosmetologist you can probably set your hours to avoid the biggest traffic issues around the rush hours.
