Question About Smyrna, Ga?

  • I am planning on relocating from Los Angeles to Smyrna, Ga. Can some one tell me about this city and how far is it from Buckhead?

    Dan, Smyrna has its nicer areas, and it has its bad areas also. In a sense you get what you pay for. you can check out the Vinings area. Its only about 15 miles from Buckhead.You will take anywhere from 15 min.s to as much as an hour to get there, depending on traffic. most of the time the 15 min.s is the norm, but at rush hour its gonna take more. But its never like the 10 or the 405 ever!

Since I am from Atlanta and LIVE in Atlanta, let me start by telling you that Smyrna is a pretty nice area. I'm sure you'd love it. It is about 30 minutes from Buckhead WITHOUT traffic, depending on what part you live in.

Smyrna was a small town north of Atlanta. Now it is just a giant suburban sprawl of Atlanta. Buckhead is a neighborhood in Atlanta located towards the center of Atlanta. Probably 15 min. drive on freeways, which is what you'll be driving to & from Smyrna & Buckhead.

Same as above except it more like 30 min to an hour because of traffic. BTW the traffic is just as bad as LA.

I lived in Smyrna for a few years. My wife and I would go to Buckhead at least once a month. It only took us about 20 minutes (we lived off 285 and South Cobb Drive). We eventually moved down to the south side...quieter for us. There was quite a bit of crime where we were living (vandalism, robberies, 1 murder down the street,etc) in our apartment complex.
