Where in the should I go on my next vacation?

Where should I go on vacation next year?

  • Two friends and myself (we are all female and in our early twenties) are planning to go on a big vacation next year. We have narrowed it down to a handful of destination spots, and I would like to know the pros of cons of each of them. Also, any international flight tips (to make them cheaper) would be much appreciated. Thanks! We would be flying from Houston TX. I just want to know the best places to visit (I know sometimes the places that get the most hype aren't really as good as places that don't), the pros and cons of visiting each one (if you have personal experience), and just financial and novice tourist things to consider. Thanks! I will also be speaking with travel agents, but I like to hear opinions on those who have been there. The places we're thinking of visiting: -Italy -New Zealand -Cananda -Amsterdam/Holland/The Netherlands -Japan -Hawaii

  • Answer:

Italy would be nice destination if you are interested in a lot of culture, history and nice food. I will warn you though that the driving style in Italy maybe be a little bit aggressive. New Zealand I don't know much about that place. Canada I would choose personally, impressive country side, nice food, a lot of different cultures. I live in The Netherlands. We got alot of culture here also, since the Netherlands is a very small country you can see a lot without much travelling. I warn you though things in The Netherlands are expensive. Japan is wonderful country with a fascinating culture and habits, I was planning to go there this year, unfortunately with the current radiation I had to cancel the trip. Hawaii I don't really know anything about Hawaii except that it is sunny :P

I suggest areas in Caribbean region are great destinations if you really would like to enjoy warm weather and great beaches.Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Bermuda Islands are few places in the Caribbean that are worth the visit. Golf is one of thing you can do in these in these countries. Their golf course links are facing the Caribbean sea. Golf is a spot best for friends and family bonding. The important thing when you travel is you look for smaller or mid size lodging option if you plan for shorter stay and maximize your occupancy. Look into your travel insurance and as much as possible look for hot deals and discounts. See the list of Golf Courses in Bermuda Islands here:

One simple advice concerning cheap flights. Use airline consolidators services. Consolidators work through contracts with major carriers to manage blocks of airline seat inventory at reduced prices which they then sell. Fares through consolidators will be lower than published rates available from the airlines themselves. For example http://www.travelpapa.com/

Well if you are travelling in your summer then New Zealand will be really cold. New Zealand and Australia is a really good backpacker destination, with a lot of things young people can do. You can easily travel to New Zealand (which is more of an outdoor destination) then pop over to Sydney, where you have beaches, better night life etc. Head there if you are travelling in your winter as it will be summer in NZ and Aus. Japan is a pretty good destination, and very cheap at the moment. Most people would avoid because of the radiation. I would go with Italy though. Cheap, lots of culture etc. Anyway, I suggest to get a ticket go to a travel agent. They can often find deals that websites don't list. Cheapest flights are transfers or flights to and from smaller cities. (Eg, fly to Gatwick, train it across Europe to Rome).
