  In the US, there are NO limits to the amount of cash that you can carry around with you if you want. If you travel by car, then nobody is going to be stopping people to see how much cash they have with them. If you get pulled over by the police because you break some traffic law, and you act in a way that makes the cop suspicious, then they might ask to search your car. But carrying large amounts of cash IS NOT against any law. If you travel by plane, there are no limits either, except that if you leave the US, then you have to fill out a form the US Customs if you are taking more than $10,000. It is, however, not particularly safe to travel with a lot of cash.
