How To Apply For Passport?

How do I apply for a temporary passport and how long will it take?

• Hey, I was just wondering what way I should/can go about this. I'm currently on a 2 year student visa in New Zealand, but I'm residence to Uk. So I have a Uk passport. My parents have recently sent off my passport to apply for residence in New Zealand. My problem is, I wanted to travel back to the Uk for a holiday pretty soon. As I don't currently have my passport is there some way, I can get a temporary passport so I can travel while New Zealand immigration have my actual passport? If I can, how do I apply for one? Where should I go to get one or fill out an application form to get one? Will there be any fees/costs? What forms of I.D would I need? How long would it roughly take for my application to be processed and for me to have the travel document? I've tried researching it, but no luck on finding the information I need and don't know much about New Zealand.. So yahoo people please help if you can. Thanks.

  There is no way to help you in this situation since you have done it the wrong way. You should have gone to the British Embassy in Wellington or the Consulate General in Auckland before you have send your passport to Immigration New Zealand and should have applied for a second passport based on exceptional cases which is possible but requires your original passport. You will need to postpone your travel until you get your passport back, sorry..
