What would be a good , cheap, but gorgeous, place to go to for summer vacation?

The Smokey Mountains in East Tennessee, including Dollywood.

California, or North Carolina. They have great beaches, but North Carolina is better in part because in the right light during sunset, staying on the beach is beautiful.... NC.....

good, cheap and gorgeous??? these three words don't go together.

The Grand Canyon is always nice and you can bring a tent and camp out.

My boyfriend and I flew to Jackson, Wyoming for a week a few years ago, rented a car and drove through the 2 beautiful National Parks there - Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. We stayed at a little place in Jackson for $30/night - although we did stay the first night at the Motel-6 and then we found this little motel near the center of town that was clean and quiet and just a block off the main streets. You should be able to get the airfare at less than $300/ticket roundtrip. We reserved the cheapest car - and ended up getting a Jeep SUV 4x4 and we paid $20/day. It was a beautiful place to go! It even snowed when we were there - totally unexpected for the end of May! We saw all sorts of wildlife from a moose crossing a river in Grand Tetons to a bald eagle in Yellowstone. If you don't want to do the fly/rent-a-car thing, you might want to find a state or national park that you can drive to. And find a little off-the-beaten-path local motel to stay in - I find they are more reasonably priced than the chains that are listed online.

The smokey mountains in Tennessee(Gatlinburg&pigeon forge) has beautiful cabins you can stay in and most are secluded.Its very relaxing.you feel like "your away from it all" thats were i got married and spent my honeymoon. Also Myrtle beach,SC is nice , but TN is better. Theres lots of things to do& great places to see. Its absolutley beautiful! me & my husband are going back in 2 weeks for our 1 year anniversary.
