Build me a T-mobile Package?

Is there a website that allows you to build your own vacation package?

  • my wife and I are trying to get a week vacation for our anniversary together. Since we recently moved to Arkansas we'd like to go somewhere around the Ozarks. But a lot of the vacation packages offer things we wont, and DONT want. So we're just wondering if there is a website that shows all available services (things to do) or that allows you to build your own vacation package (while on a budget). thanks!

  • Answer:

Just book your hotel room and find the things you want to do on your own

Most destination chambers of commerce or, for bigger destinations, the tourist development office, can offer a selection of events and activities for you to choose from. If you'd rather not do the research yourself (I personally find planning my vacations lots of fun), what you need is a good, ol' fashioned individual called a "travel agent." You can find a travel agent at a service called a "travel agency." Despite the popularity and ease of the Internet in vacation planning, as you've noticed, there are occasionally trip-planning situations where a human touch is needed. Make sure you use an industry certified travel agent. You might find mom-and-pop "travel agencies" listed in your local phone book: they are often just group travel planners, and in fact, generally plan a trip, recruit their friends and take advantage of free tickets offered to the group leaders. What you need is an IATA certified agency, usually a chain agency. I prefer to use my friendly local AAA Travel agency myself. Travel agent services are almost all free, incidentally. Let the professional do your legwork for you if you'd rather not plan your trip yourself. Happy anniversary to you both! I hope you and your wife have a lovely getaway. PS: While you're in Arkansas, don't miss a long weekend at Petit Jean State Park, which is gorgeous. Stay in the old WPA-era lodge. A friend and I went there quite a few years ago and loved it.
