Does anyone know the cheapest fastest way to travel?

Ok i know fly but its not that simple, does anyone know of a different way besides conventional? I am in US i want to travel to europe, i dont want to pay 1200-2200 for a plane ticket. Is there some other way to get across the ocean?? had thought maybe going to new york harbor and catch a lift on one the barges or freighters but i dont know if they do that in exchange for work.. Need some creative ideas thanks in advance!

Go by boat, there are freighters going all the time Im sure you can hitch a ride.... Apply for a job then give your notice once your there. Ship yourself via boat..... The Navy will take you to Europe, it may take you a while to get there... Good luck. d
