My name on my ID doesnt match birth certificate...?
-
I'm going on a Mexican cruise from the US in about a month. I don't have a passport, so I was planning on using my birth certificate and driver's license as traveling documents. My problem is that the DMV issued me a driver's license with a different spelling of my name than what is on my birth certificate. (I prefer the DMV spelling rather than my birth ceritificate). The DMV gave me a "change of name" print out, but this was dated almost 10 years ago. I didn't plan on getting a passport in the first place because I didn't want to go through the hassel of getting an official court ordered name change. Can I get through with non matching names on ID card and birth certificate when traveling to Mexico???

Answer:
Yes, just bring the change of name document.
