Any spring break places within 3 hours from Philly?

Good places to go for spring break?

• Me and my friend are seniors in college and we have never actually done anything exciting for spring break. I was just wondering if you guys could recommend any interesting place to go for spring break within our price range? We are looking to spend $600-700 each for spending one week in a halfway decent hotel, transportation their, and entertainment there. We are not really looking to go to a beach for spring break, but somewhere we can go, doesn't really matter what state that would be entertaining. Thanks for your help !

  It's tough to suggest a place without knowing where you are, but here are some things to consider... If you were planning on flying, the airfare is going to eat up more than half you budget. Same thing for the train, and nobody goes on spring break on the bus. So you're looking at places you can drive to. If both of you drive, figure no more than about 600 miles from where you are. With food and "comfort" stops, that's about 12 hours of driving. If your car gets 30mpg on the highway, that's about $120 for gas-$60 per person. Even if you eat pretty cheap, plan on spending $35/day on meals. For seven days, thats $235 each. That's going to leave you right around $300-$400 each to spend on a hotel and other stuff. If you're sharing a room, look at Motel 6 or Travel Lodge type places. That will leave you enough money for "splurges" and entertainment, and some decent meals.
