What is the best US Domestic airline for international travel?

  • I'm planning a trip from OMA to ZRH for the end of June. The domestic airlines are the only ones I can afford so that's who I have to fly with. Thanks for the opinions!

    For sure there are no direct flights. Best I can find is to fly with Midwest Airlines to Chicago and swap to a U.S. Airways flight to ZRH. Not cheap at £1144 return. United Airlines offer a route via Newark NJ where you switch to Continental Airlines. Slightly dearer at £1153 return, prices bases on flying on a saturday. You may get a better price if you can travel mid-week As you are planning an international flight I can see no reason to assume that US domestic carriers will be cheaper and you will need an international carrier for most of your trip.
