Holiday Destinations for End of September, start of October?

• My husband and I have a week booked off work end of September/begining of October. We both love good food and good wine, along with water sports like snorkelling and scuba diving. So wherever we go it must be on the coast. We have a budget of around £500 EACH for the week and we'd prefer self catering. We're concious of the fact that places in the EU might not be that warm that time of year and we'd really like some heat! Any suggestions?

  Well check out the island of Malta in the Mediterranean. That time of year is still quite hot over here! Good food and good wine is a definite in Malta- with a speciality of a mix of italian and our own delicacies and the Maltese wine is excellent!
