I used to work for an airline, and i can tell you its not easy to get into an airline. The only way most people can get it, unless you have already worked for an airline, is going to their lowest job and working your way up. I'm sorry to say that three years in a travel agency, will help a bit, but not much. most of the people i worked with, worked in other airport jobs, or in the travel industry for years just so they could get into an airline. There's no point in just asking if they have any jobs avaliable, you probably wont get a response. You wanna start out in check-in, or reservations. Once you have worked there 12 months you can move around. You can go onto most airlines websites and check for vacancies or register interest. When they are looking for people, its usually more then one, they start the recruitment process, which for me was two interviews, a medical, a police check, a phycological test, math and literacty test. (Mind you i was only going for check in). When i went for the job, i was told more then 1000 people applied, 10 were hired. If you really want to boost your chances, tell them your learning how to fly and would eventually like to fly for them. They never ask details. If i were you, i'd just keep looking and applying. You can't get picked if you don't try.
