Do I need a passport to fly from Glasgow to Dublin?

Do I need a passport if I am returning to London from Dublin? (non EU citizen)?

  • I intend to visit the US embassy in dublin to apply for a us visa. they have to take my passport. i know i need a passport to enter dublin from england, but do i need the passport to return to England? i recall there was some agreement somewhere that allows people to pass through without one. i am of non-eu citizenship.

Why would you then apply for a U.S. visa in the Republic of Ireland to which you cannot prove any ties instead of doing it in the United Kingdom where you are allegedly residing.
