Have you ever taken a vacation outside the US......alone?

• Where did you go? I'm wanting to take a vacation somewhere in Europe....BY MYSELF. Do you have any recommendations for a solo vacation in Europe? Thanks.

  I've gone to Europe alone. Personally, I didn't feel any more secure in one place over the next. You just have to keep the same basic safety things in mind. For example, stay in well populated areas when it is dusk or dark, keep your purse under your shirt or jacket and be sure to have one that can go across your body. Never travel in empty places a lone, especially if it is dark or some other reason causes you not to be able to see very well, i.e. trash cans. Also, be sure to leave a list of the places you will be and the days you plan to be there with someone at home, such as family or friends. Try to come up with a way to keep in communication with them, whether it is a phone call or e-mail, each day, so that if something would happen they would no where to start. Traveling to Europe alone is going to be like traveling to bigger cities a lone, just use your common sense, becareful, look up ideas for safety, and come up with a list of the places you want to go the most and then from those decide which one is the safest based on what you read.
