How do you view a street location?

Has Google maps/street view ever shocked you? Was a location totally different to what you expected?

  • I've been amazed a few times at how horrible some supposedly lovely/iconic places are.

    Tell you what, when we were looking for a house a few years back we'd have saved a lot of driving around if we could have seen what towns were like before going to see the properties. The last place we stayed, it's on Streetview ok but according to Maps it's a field. That block has been there for about five years now...... Needs a little updating, does Maps.

I wanted to have a look at the area a relative lives and discovered that for some reason, on that area of Scotland is just a grey band and no satellite coverage at all. I can see the area on streetview, but unfortunately he lives in a bit which has just a track that streetview doesn't cover.

Google maps isn't too accurate with my location for some reason.... maybe they haven't updated it cuz it looks different than how it did 8 yrs ago.
