How can I become a journalist?

How can I become a travel journalist for National Geographic Traveler magazine?

  • I'm 16 and this has been one of my dreams for quite some time. I was wondering exactly how I would go about making this happen. thanks in advance for your help.

  • Answer:

George F. Will, a famous journalist, says to aspiring writers: "Read! Read! Read! If you want to write well, you must first read good writing." Intensify your education in literature. Get good grades, and apply to highly competitive writing programs at the best universities in the country. Finally, write to an associate editor at the magazine and ask for his/her advice. They'll be in an excellent position to answer your question.
