Where is the cheapest place to travel? I want to go somewhere that is different than the US or Europe.?

I want to go somewhere that's somewhat safe. I know Americans have a bad reputation right now, but with my good looks and great charm.......Just kidding. I was thinking Thailand, but I don't want a touristy place.
