Parents who is visiting India w/o travel insurance got sick?

  • My father who is visiting india, got sick and had to go through a major surgery. His Insurance in US is not ready to cover as he got sick out of country. We did not apply for travel insurance as he had to leave US due to a death in a family. I believe he is not eligible for any insurance so we are trying to pay everything from our savings but not sure how long they are planning to keep him in ICU and when he will be shifted to other rooms? I'm looking for any guidance how to pay his bill or i can still work through an insurance company or can I claim to his insurance company (at least for partial payment)?
