Is it worth buying the priceline travel insurance? Can you get a refund if you get sick prior to traveling?

• I am about to book flight & car rental through priceline. I have never purchased travel insurance so I have questions. What illnesses qualify for cancellation insurance? I am concerned with the flues that are going around since I am going to visit my grandmother. If you do get sick, how do you prove you are sick?
