  Maspalomas is a wonderful, fun place to vist! I was there a couple of years back and had a great time. The beaches are amazing! I stayed at Riu ClubHotel Gran Canaria (€186 per night) and the service was excellent. Of course there is Playa de Maspalomas. The beach is brilliant and very clean. Great beach, lovely yellow sand with a large expanse of dunes. You can walk from the Riu Grand Palace Hotel across the dunes using the Faro light house as your landmark There's Palmitos park, with its aquarium and zoo, and the botanical park of Maspalomas. Both extremely entertaining. The Botanical Park of Maspalomas (El parque Botánico de Maspalomas) is a nice little (covers an area of 12.000 m2) botanical park located at the end of the golf area in Maspalomas, right at the bottom of the hill which takes you to Playa del Ingles. Because of the location it has a special micro climate. It has about 50 different species, ranging from a wide variety of palms from all over the world to all kinds of vegetables, medicinal and aromatic plants. It has a nice sitting area where you can rest and look at the beautiful plants and trees. The opening hours are from 10:00-18:00h except from Sundays and holidays. There is no entrance fee. If water parks are more you thing, visit Aqualand Maspalomas. Very fun, but sometimes there's a lot of kids around. Finally, don't forget to visit the Maspalomas lighthouse. It is a great landmark that leads you to the wonderful beach and promenade where there are good eateries and shopping. Would recommend El Senador down on the beach great seafood, best fresh sardines. Don Coquito in the covered area which also offered good seafood, amazingly big mussels, go for the sea food platter.
