I have to renew my daughter's canadian passport by mail. Will I get her old passport back?

• I have to renew my daughter's canadian passport by mail. Will I get her old passport back? I remember that when my wife had her canadian passport renewed in person they gave the old one back with the corner cut off. this time we are too far from the passport canada office so we have to send the request by mail. My daughter is more than 3 yrs old and her first expired passport is for us a very important souvenir with her photo when she was 2 months old and travelling entry stamps. we wouldn't want to lose it. Anyone knows? do you know if we get it back with all the other original documents and the new passport in one envelope? or later?

  There's a box on the Adult renewal form for indicating that you want the old passport returned, and if you don't check it then you don't get it. If there isn't one on the Child renewal form, you should attach a sticky note to it and request that it be returned.
