What do you need to go on an airplane?

Do you need a passport to go from state to state on an airplane?

  • i dont have a passport and theres something i want to go to in five months and i heard it can take up to 6 months to get a passport.so,do i really need one if im staying in the states?

  • Answer:

In the United States no passport is needed unless you leave the country-Canada was exempt for another year because of the backlog in getting passports but you didn't use to have to have one, just proper id (license, etc.) Flying to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, no passport required. If you are NOT a US citizen-you are required to have your passport with you at all times-with the FAA crackdown on terrorists-you could easily be asked to produce ID at any airport-and if you don't have a US id (license or something) and can't produce your passport...plan on spending some time in a small room explaining yourself!

No, you only need a passport if you are leaving the country you live in. You will need a State Issued I.D or Drivers licence to board any airplane!

No for domestic travel all you need is your state issued ID.
