When traveling is it better to have a backpack or suitcase?

I'm traveling to japan for 3 week should I take a suitcase or a MASSIVE backpack?

    I'd say a suitcase if you're not moving a lot. It's way easier to pack and can carry a variety of things much more easily. You'd also look less of a prat :P
