How expensive is a trip to London?

Trip to Europe (Pairs, Rome, London) How much $ to bring?

  • I going on a trip with Ecollege Break. Were going to Paris, Rome and London the trip is 12 days but two of the days were flying. The trip pays for hotel, flight, and breakfast each day but only one dinner. How much money should I bring? I already spent $2200 on this trip, so I want to keep it as low as possible. Any suggestions too?

  • Answer:

I go on those trips all the time! I know it will be a lot of fun and very hard not to spend a lot. I would like to tell you that it is possible to keep it low, however it isnt. Id take at LEAST another 2,000 ... putting some in Travelers Checks. It is very easy to spend cash.. and the checks kinda keep you in line from spending it all.. I hope you have a lovely time! :)

Remember that a 1 Euro is equivalent to about US $1.24. you probably will want to spend a good sum of money on tchotchkes or souvenirs, like clothing, postcards, or keychains. bring around US $2500 which would translate to about 2001.441 Euros.

First don't bring any. You will get ripped off trying to convert your dollars to euro. ATMs are plentiful and the ATM service charge is minimal compared to any money changing service that you will encounter. Second it depends on how you want to spend your time in Europe. If you want to travel like the traditional collage student and go as cheap as possible. Then I would plan for 20-40 euros a day. Now if you want to enjoy yourself, fill up on breakfast, (European breakfasts are not the same) and indulge in a great dinner with drinks (100-150 euro max). And to sum it all up, London is going to be expensive no matter where you go your best bet is to hit a PUB for dinner they have good food and it is reasonably priced. Parris is not as bad but you will have to get off of the main drag for dinner unless you want to eat crap or pay through the @##. Rome you really have to get out of the main stream if you want a good place to eat. That is usually how I travel. Just incase you were wondering I am a US Citizen living in Europe and I have traveled to all of these places. If you have any other questions fell free to hit me up.
